Why My Journey Shapes the Way I Coach

When parents and athletes ask what makes What’s Next Athletics different, my answer is simple: it’s the combination of my playing experience, academic training, facility culture, and personal performance that allows me to create a program that’s both proven and personal.
A Foundation in Health Sciences
With an undergraduate degree in Health Sciences, I bring more than just baseball knowledge to the table. I understand how the body works, how it develops, and how training impacts long-term health. This means every drill and program I design is rooted in:
Safe and effective movement patterns
Injury prevention strategies
Performance-building exercises that match the athlete’s age and stage of development
Parents can feel confident knowing their child isn’t just training harder, they’re training smarter.
Years Inside a Training Facility Culture
Before launching What’s Next Athletics, I spent years inside a high-level training facility environment. That culture taught me the value of structure, accountability, and community.
In that setting, I saw firsthand how athletes thrive when they:
Work within a structured, progressive system
Receive feedback that balances discipline with encouragement
Train alongside others who share their goals and drive
I’ve carried that culture into my own program — so every athlete feels like they’re part of something bigger than themselves.
The Perspective of a D1 Player
Playing Division I baseball for five years gave me insights you can’t learn from a textbook. I know what it feels like to fail, to succeed, to grind through tough practices, and to rise under pressure.
That experience allows me to coach from the inside out: I’ve been where your athlete is trying to go, and I know what it takes to get there.
Why Throwing 94 Matters
Reaching 94 mph on the mound wasn’t just about arm strength — it was the result of years of deliberate training, biomechanics, and mental preparation. That milestone taught me:
How to generate power efficiently
How mechanics and mobility work together
How to set and achieve measurable performance goals
For athletes, this isn’t just a number — it’s proof that my methods lead to real results. I don’t just teach theory; I’ve lived it.
Bringing It All Together
At What’s Next Athletics, my program is the product of:
Academic knowledge in Health Sciences
The discipline of facility culture
The lived experience of a D1 athlete
The proven performance of someone who’s thrown 94 mph
The result? A system that develops athletes physically, mentally, and competitively — preparing them not just for their next season, but for whatever comes next in their journey.
