‼️Patience 🆚 Waiting ‼️
➡️ I started a new chapter in my life, where I found myself in a new area with nothing to latch on to except my partner. I began applying for jobs, making calls, and trying to establish my own personal brand.
⏳ Days seemed to take forever, I was constantly working, but with no clear-cut goal ahead.
❓"I feel like I am always waiting for something to happen"
🧎I had convinced myself that going through the everyday motions of life with no sense of accomplishment was a normal part of growing up. All my life I was waiting for the next thing to happen. I was making calls, sending in applications, and doing the things that society told me I should be doing. I was wrong.
👌To be clear, in our society, it can be hard to correctly identify that this shouldn't be our process. I had to reestablish and refine my values. I talked to those who had seen me at my best, and asked what their experiences were like.
‼️Surprise: they all felt horrible at one point in their journey. The difference? They didn't wait, they were patient.
✅ Patience is committing myself to a process and saying "it will work because of the work I put in everyday."
🌀 So... I went on a five mile run because my partner convinced me it was a good idea. I ended up talking to someone I can now call a mentor for the entire five miles. The work I had committed myself to wasn't giving me results, only when I was truly myself -- did I find value.
❌ Waiting is unknowingly giving up, and saying there is nothing more that you can do.
♻️ The Lesson: Waiting is the belief that there is only one way to get to where you want to go. Patience is realizing that there are many unique paths to a final destination. Be patient. Don't wait. ♻️
